The day plan (which is shown in the NOW tab) allows you to capture everything—from ideas to critical musts—and prioritize them. It is also the first thing you see when you enter ResultMaps.

Add things to your day plan

To add new items to your day plan, you can:

  • Enter tasks, ideas, or other items into the text box at the top of the list.
  • Use the hashtag #today in Slack, in a project, or anywhere else in ResultMaps to add it to your day plan. 
  • Use the sidebar result helper icons on most items to add them to your day plan.
  • Use the hashtags #daily, #habit, or #everyday to make an item appear on your day plan every day.
  • View anything you have scheduled for today (or deferred to today from another day).

Reprioritize items on your day plan

To change the priority of your day plan items, you can:

  • Drag and drop items to change the order
  • Add the hashtags #next or #toppriority to the item name to automatically move them to the top of your day plan

Remove things from your day plan

To delete an item from your day plan, 

  1. Hover over the item you want to remove. 
  2. Click the Delete trashcan icon.

To remove an item from your day plan and still keep it available in ResultMaps, 

  1. Hover over the item you want to remove.
  2. Click the Unlink icon. 

Manage overwhelm when too many things are on your day plan

Manage overwhelm on your day plan when there are too many items to accomplish in one day by using any of the following techniques:

  • Combine related single items into projects
  • Team up with others
  • Move things to another day
  • Remove all #Next tags are reprioritize
  • Use productivity boosters like Buffets First Five, The Eisenhower Matrix, or Robbins Must Approach.
